So, the event didn't exactly go as planned. Only about three families showed up, one of them being my own. We had enough games and volunteers as everyone else but we didn't get the flow of people that we were hoping for. Probably because of the timing of the event. There were numerous other things going on that weekend that involved our target audience, like basketball and swimming sectionals. All in all we did raise around $100, so that's still good! It was fun to be with the volunteers there and I'm glad we did it, I just wish we had picked a different day or advertised better or something. We plan to see if we can put a booth at the NPE carnival and give away some of our prizes and maybe get more donations. Overall, it could've been worse. Everyone involved was really supporting and nice. We had a lot of help from our administrators. So thank you everyone!

Our Fundraiser is this week and I'm nervous that we won't have enough volunteers and I also worry that no one will show up. Hopefully we get a decent turn out. I feel that we've put it together fairly well I just feel that we still have a million things to do, even though that is not really the case.
We have most of our things set in order. We still need to get fish and I would like to figure out how to play music in the aux gym. So, all in all things are going as they always go! Hopefully we can raise a lot of money to donate. Things are tying together well and right now we're most worried about getting the word out. We want people to show up so we can make enough money to have a good sized donation. We have all of the carnival games and attractions in order for the most part and we've sent out the flyers. Hopefully we can get a lot of the middle school and elementary kids to come. Since it is before the basketball game, I think we should have a couple of people walk by.
We've been getting on pretty well this week. Grace and I are buying a lot of what we need and now all I'm worried about is getting the word out. It will be cool and I would hate to not have a lot of people show up. That would suck. Hopefully we can get help from the elementary schools and get the word out.
We are getting ready for our dance and we are setting up games. We've been painting post boards for various advertisements. We have begun to think of the most resourceful ways to use our grant. We emailed the woman who is the head of NPE's PTO organizations and she said they could give us some of the games they use at NPE's carnival.
We've picked out a date to do the dance on; February 17th! It will give us plenty of time to plan which is what we've been up to mostly. We applied for a $250 grant, which we received. All we have to do is get our principle's signature, find a tax exempt form, and send it in. Yay! Taxes! We're going to try to find a band to play and other activities to do while at the dance since you aren't supposed to sit down. Also, we're going to lightly toss balls that are soft at people's heads if they decide to sit.
As for Riley, I've made contact (after being transferred six times) with Emily. She's going to help us out with knowing the regulations and we'll be able to donate to her. Grace and I are working on this one together. We have been brain storming ideas of things to do during the dance marathon. We have had it at our high school in years past, but it had turned out to be not as much of a success as people would like it to be. Grace and I are going to focus on making it something high school students will want to attend as well as trying to involve the elementary schools. Hopefully, we can raise more awareness and money for it then the years the past.
